Sans briefly realizes that means Okpaza has taken his and Papyrus's old abilities as well, but before he can contemplate any of that the hunger knocks all his thoughts out of his mind. Where Sans is from, monsters can absorb human souls, but it's not something anyone would do except under the most desperate of circumstances. It's wrong. This is the first time Sans thinks he understands wanting to. More than that, it's the first time he's ever wanted to eat a soul, is halfway through the idea of tearing his own out and trying to chew it to pieces before the lights flicker back on and leave him scoured out inside, dizzy with the memory of himself.
