RULES
RULES
1. Don't be a dick. This is our most important rule! We're all here to have fun, so respect each other, even if you don't like each other. If you have issues, please bring them to a mod so that we can resolve it in a civil manner. If you harass other players or create a toxic environment, mods will contact you. Failure to comply with the proposed solution will result in a strike. Normally, it's "three strikes and you're out," but more serious offenses (such as sexual harassment) will result in an immediate ban. This is up to mod discretion.
Please note that we will not take action based exclusively on comments left in anoncomms. We are happy to hear your case if you have concerns, but we require proof of an individual's poor behavior that amounts to more than "an anon said they did this." Contacting the mods privately is the best way to help us help you. Please never hesitate to approach us.
2. Respect the age limit. Due to the game's content, you must be 18 years of age or older to play at The Canyon.
3. Strive to be as IC as possible. Changes to a character's personality are a given with this sort of game, but try to make it believable. There should be a logical progression from point A to point B when looking at your character's development. Gamewide HMDs will be posted on occasion, though these will not be mandatory.
4. No godmoding or powergaming. We all want to have fun, but it's no fun if your character is the All-Powerful God-King of the game who can kill anyone with one hit and can't be harmed. Be reasonable with things.
5. IC =/= OOC. What happens between your characters is their problem, not yours. Don't take a character's in-character actions as an out-of-character slight against you. No one should ever be treated poorly because of what they play out. Remember, at the end of the day, this is just a game!
6. Be active. You must pass activity check in order to remain in the game. Please head on over to our FAQ page for more details.
7. Warn for sensitive content. This game will naturally have a certain amount of horror and gore in it, but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to have limits. The general rule is that triggering content such as suicide, rape, and graphic depictions of violence should be warned for in the header (but it's better to be safe than sorry, so if something is iffy but doesn't fall into those categories, go ahead and warn for it anyway). NSFW/smutty content is allowed, but it should be warned for and put behind a cut.
